Jersey Reds Beat Russia 35-22
Jersey Reds beat Russia in a World Cup warm-up game

The island side, who finished fourth in English rugby’s second tier, led 28-12 at half-time in Moscow after tries from Leroy Van Dam, Luc Jones, Greg Dyer and skipper Apakuki Ma’afu.

Auguy Slowik then crossed early in the second half for the islanders.
Russia scored two tries in each half, with Sale lock Andrei Ostrikov going over for one of them.

The fixture was arranged through Russia head coach Lyn Jones, whose son Luc plays for Jersey.

Russia, ranked 20th in the world, are in a pool with Scotland, Ireland, Samoa and hosts Japan at the World Cup which begins next month.

Unlikely friendship and great listen

Having taken 8 hours to get from London to Stratford on Avon, thanks to 2 crashes on M25 and having to turn back at Oxford having got through it as wife left phone in the car 🤬😡🤬😡☠️ (Mani make room under that patio please), I had loads of time to catch up on some podcasts.
The best of which was the House of Rugby episode with Haskell & Robshaw.
Was surprised how close they seemed, it was actually quite sweet!

It’s a good listen, although the Eddie haters may want to skip some of it as they are very complimentary of him.
For everyone else it offers a peak behind the curtain.

Highly recommend!
