I suppose most have already seen this but saw the Ireland post a felt a bit left out.

No doubt the inclusion of Rees-Zammit and the other the uncapped players are key discussion points but maybe the return of Rhys Webb, Owen Williams and Faletau may well have more significance when selecting the 23. Having said that, with Jonathan Davies and Watkin sidelined (and other centres off form or injured) the 13 position is really up for grabs therefore Tomkins must have a strong chance of playing. There has been talk of North (or even Adams) at 13 but switching positions (without a lot of practise) has to be a risk in my view. In addition with Francis injured WillGriff John could easily leapfrog Lewis and Brown. I only say that based on press reports that he can scrummage – which is always a good place to start for a prop – and certainly gives him an advantage over the others.

Howley banned for 18 months

So the truth has finally come out – Howley was found guilty of making 363 bets over 4 years.  That’s a bet every 4 days!  Bottom line, banned from rugby for 18 months with 9 of those suspended.  Makes it possible for him to return to the game in June 2020 (taking into account the 3 months of the investigation).  Seems to me like a deep rooted problem for the fella, hope he can turn himself around.

Apparently he was using his WRU mobile to make the bets and lost £4,000!
